E Safety

What is E Safety?

E-safety encompasses not only internet technologies but also electronic communications such as mobile phones and wireless technology. It highlights the need to educate children and young people about the benefits, risks and responsibilities of using information technology. It provides safeguards and raises awareness to enable users to control their online experiences. Our E Safety policies are relevant to ensuring staff, children and parents are aware of rules and regulations of staying safe online.

Safer Internet Day

Each year, we mark Safer Internet day with an assembly led by our computing lead Mr Hanvey. The children then focus on E Safety throughout the day using resources from the Safer Internet Day website.

Safer Internet Day 2024 took place on the 6th of February 2024, with celebrations and learning based around the theme “Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online”

A huge well done to the digital leaders who led the Safer Internet Day assembly for the whole school that day. They were fantastic ambassadors, championing this years them. Throughout this week and next week, children will be taking part in lessons based around this years theme.
