French

At St. Winifred’s we aim to provide a foreign language curriculum through the teaching of French.

Children from Year 3 to Year 6 not only enjoy, but experience a range of speaking, listening, reading and writing activities in French. We also aim to develop their awareness of cultural differences, to consider their own culture and compare it with the French culture, encouraging tolerance and respect.

In French, we hope that our children will leave St. Winifred’s with a positive attitude towards languages and other cultures and the motivation to continue with their language studies.
