Year 5 Classroom Information
School start and finish Times
The doors open at school at 8.45am, when lessons begin. School finishes at 3.15pm.
Lunch
Lunch is from 12.30-1.30pm.
PE
In Autumn 2, PE will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Visit the School Uniform page for more information about our PE Kit.
Homework & Spellings
Our Spelling lesson is on a Monday the children are then tested on a Friday. A sheet with the whole half terms spelling is sent home at the beginning of the term. Spelling Shed is also linked to the weekly spellings and the children are expected to go on this during the week.
Timestable Rockstars: A tournament is set each week for the children to compete in.
Written homework alternates weekly between English comprehension and Maths CGP books. This is Given out on a Friday and must be returned on a Wednesday.
Reading
Children in Year 5 are expected to read for at least 20 minutes each evening.
Reading records need to be completed and will be checked each day in school.
