Reception Classroom Information
School start and finish Times
The doors open at school at 8.45am, when lessons begin. School finishes at 3.15pm.
Lunch
Lunch is from 11.30am-12.30pm. Lunch is currently free for children in Reception to Year Two.
Reading Books
Each child receives a school library book on a Tuesday. This is to be returned the following Monday. From Autumn term 2, the children will begin to receive sound blending books to support phonics.
Phonics
Phonics is taught daily in Reception. We follow the Read Write Inc scheme. For the first 6 weeks, the children learn the single letter set 1 sounds. After Autumn half term, children are grouped to continue their learning.
P.E
P.E days are Wednesday and Thursday
Homework
Homework is sent out every Tuesday to be returned the following Monday.
